Research-Backed Strategic Plan

Air Ambulance Charity

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance (DSAA) plays a vital role in saving lives across the South West. While awareness of the charity in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) area was relatively high, understanding of its operations and funding needs was limited. I was asked to explore how DSAA could raise its profile, build partnerships, and unlock new fundraising opportunities in this economically important region.

Approach:

I designed and delivered a structured research and engagement project. By meeting with leading organisations and influential stakeholders, I combined insight gathering with relationship building. This created a non-intrusive way to open doors, raise awareness, and begin conversations about future collaboration.

Benefits to DSAA:

My work delivered significant value, including:

  • Clear Direction – Practical recommendations on how DSAA can grow visibility, strengthen its reputation, and engage businesses more effectively.
  • Partnership Pipeline – Introductions to a wide range of prospective partners, from major employers to community networks, creating immediate opportunities.
  • Fundraising Potential – Evidence of strong willingness among businesses to support DSAA, with scope to grow annual income substantially from the BCP area.
  • Strategic Focus – A clear picture of which organisations are most likely to engage and what types of activity will resonate.
  • Enhanced Credibility – Reinforced DSAA’s position as a trusted and valued charity partner within the local business community.

Conclusion:

This project has provided DSAA with the insights and relationships needed to convert goodwill into long-term partnerships. With a clear roadmap in place, the charity is now well-positioned to build deeper community engagement and achieve its ambitious fundraising goals.
